Duanecia Clark

Born and raised in Harlem, Duanecia Clark is a visionary leader with over a decade of experience in educational equity and social impact. As Chief Strategy and Communications Officer at FaithActs for Education, she leads the organization’s strategic growth, fundraising, civic engagement, and strategic communications initiatives to build sustainable power for educational equity across Connecticut.

At FaithActs, Duanecia oversees the organization’s ambitious civic engagement work, including the FaithVotes campaign which aims to represent 10,000 committed, registered Connecticut voters while maintaining a verified, activated voter base. Her strategic leadership has helped expand FaithActs’ reach across Bridgeport, New Haven, and Hartford, with specific voter registration targets and comprehensive engagement strategies to ensure the Black faith community’s voice is heard in education policy decisions.

Before joining FaithActs, Duanecia held several leadership positions at Teach For America (TFA), including the organization’s Connecticut region. As Chief of Staff for the Washington D.C. region, she led strategy, talent acquisition and development, and communications. She also served as Senior Managing Director of Public Partnerships on Teach For America’s national team, where she most notably secured a $10 million grant from The Ballmer Foundation to launch the Black Educators Promise initiative, designed to increase the number of Black educators through financial support and retention incentives.

Drawing on her expertise in organizational development and community mobilization, Duanecia has helped FaithActs grow its funding nearly sixfold since 2015. She plays a crucial role in maintaining the organization’s mission-driven approach while expanding its impact through strategic partnerships and innovative programs like the Organizing Institute.

A first generation college graduate from the University of Bridgeport, Duanecia holds a master’s degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard University and was recognized as a 2020 Pahara Institute NextGen fellow. She is a member of Education Leaders of Color and co-founded The Creative Summer Company.

Her leadership embodies FaithActs’ commitment to building power through faith, ensuring that Black, Brown, and low-income students can fulfill their God-given potential. Through strategic vision and deep community engagement, Duanecia continues to advance FaithActs’ mission of transforming education through the power of organized faith communities.
